Yellow Classroom Happenings
Yellow Room September/October Highlights:
During the first few weeks of school we have been getting the children accustomed to the routine of the classroom and where to find things in our room. We have reviewed the rules of the classroom and introduced a job chart.
In September: We learned about germs and our favorite activity was putting “germ juice” on our hands and seeing it under a black light, then washing our hands and checking again to make sure our hands were all clean. We loved all our apple activities like making applesauce, our Apple Festival with our families, and going on our Field Trip to the Apple Orchard.
In October: We will work on learning the letters of our names, number identification, counting and writing in our journals. We will focus on fall and pumpkins and look forward to our Pumpkin Picking Field Trip. We will also focus on Fire Safety since October is Fire Prevention Month.
We have been discussing our emotions. You may hear your child talk about STAR: Stop, Take a deep breath, And Relax. We are learning to use our words when we have a problem with a friend and we continue to practice using our good listening skills.
